Yay Shannyn!!

She made it! We were a tiny bit worried that she might not, but we're so glad she did! She's at 30 weeks now and that's two weeks longer than she was able to go with Jack, so we definitely needed to celebrate with a shower for her (so glad her doctor gave her the okay!). It was fun to meet her family (they're so great, just like her!) and hang out for a few hours. Now back to bedrest, Miss Shannyn. Gotta keep that little guy in for at least a few more weeks!

A Brief Interview with the Lukester

Here are some funny things Luke's saying lately. When he wants to take a bath, he'll come up to me and say, "I'm a dirty mess!" After he goes to the bathroom, he needs his prize, so he always says, "prize box" with major drama. And when I ask him how old he is, he always says, "4"! Breanna tries to correct him, but he just says, "I'm not 2-1/2, I'm 4!"

Hello Potty!

Jer got the super hero unders. I took care of the the prize box. A day or two later, DONE.
It was unbelievably easy. I think he was just ready.

Tate stopped by just in time for the prize box. Good timing, kid!

And even though he's all grown up with those big unders, he's still little enough to fit into the ultra cool nooks around the house.
(Kind of looks like he's screaming in pain, but rest assured, Luke rarely feels pain or screams about it. This is his happy face.)

Bye big boy!

Bon Jovi!!!!!!!!!

Jer completely hooked my up last night with tickets to one of my all time favs, Bon Jovi! Hard to believe it was 20 years ago that I snuck off with some HS friends to UC Irvine to see him in concert. And 20 years later, he still packed the stadium. It was incredible!

Some highlights aside from Bon Jovi
(I know, hard to believe there were any!):
Super Glue ladies behind us
WTA couple that brought their 2 little kids, bottles, diaper bag and all
Cutest Old Couple on the main floor Waltzing as BJ rocked the house
(Jer spotted them, my eyes were elsewhere).
Jer's amazing one arm wonder
Jer refusing to dance and look like a dork. But when he was forced to stand to let someone out of the aisle, I hipped him and got him to grove. Super Glue ladies loved that.
Livin on a Prayer, Jer finally rocked with me
(I had to unfold his arms first though).
And of course sitting by my man! Loved it!

i love you bon jovi!
Oh and thanks Nat for your FB super powers!

Fort Heaven!

Here's what happens when Jake and Tristan camp out together. I took this pic at 10:30p.m., thinking they were both fast asleep. I decided to peek inside and get some sleeping shots and look what I found:
Not so sleepy Jake. But Tristan on the other hand...

A full day of church can really wipe a guy out.

With Tristan out, we had no choice but to pull the one arm wonder.
I think a partial shot of me and a full shot of Jake made for the perfect pic!
I think forts are one of those things that will never loose their greatness. They have this sort of magic that even beats video games. And for this kid, that's saying a lot!

Princess????

It happens when you hang out with Elle.
Even better than this picture is Elle leaving the room and Luke calling out to her, "Princess!!!!!"
After the lipgloss incident during sacrament meeting yesterday (which now that I think about it, that might have started the last time Luke was at Elle's and she put him on the potty and put lip gloss on him) we better keep this pic far from dad's eyes. He might quit his job.

The Last 31 Days....

The past month or so has kind of gotten away from me, so here are some highlights:
Crazy kids coming to play on one of many rainy rainy days.

Learning the hard way that this should never be on the side of your house.

Nor should there be pools of water in your backyard.

Or else you'll have this:

Not fun. Thanks to all those who came to our rescue with fans (Bobbi!) and offers of fans.
And thanks to Duane who came and literally dug us out of this one!

And just as our wood floors began to dry out,
we were flooded by a most glorious visit from G&G D!
Time to party!
Grandpa LOVED 2:00 church.
He was actually a good sport for someone who can't stand to sit still very long!

Of course we had to break out the paints to pass the hours before church!

Jake and Bree teach us some good meditation.
Grandpa had to leave early, so that meant shopping time! We hit the Dump which was actually quite nice. Here is the rug that got away from me. I'm still dreaming about it.
Wouldn't it be just perfect with my orange curtains???
It was screaming my name.

After the Dump we hit Ikea and scored some pretty sweet shelves. Mom was confident she could hang em, no problem. Screwing a plastic screw in with the drill seemed like a fine idea to me too. Didn't work so well cuz it seems plastic melts under all that heat and pressure.
We almost peed our pants laughing when she pulled this out of the wall.
One of the most re-told stories of my youth was when I was driving our suburban and I hit the gas (on purpose) over a dip in the road and we all went flying in the air, hitting our heads on the roof of the car. My mom (amid my sisters' hysterical laughter) said to me, "You only have half a brain!"
Well, mom, I think this finally proves who has the other half.
Definitely two peas in a pod.

Grandma got to see Jake earn his Webelo!

And she helped Bree do her Rosa Parks project. And she bought me a sewing machine and helped me make pillows for my family room and we laughed and talked and had the best time! Can't wait til you retire so you can come more often, mom!

The day Grandma left had a silver lining because Breezy got the REACH award at Candeo. That was a huge honor for Bree and we're very excited for her!
She's with Mrs. Musser and Mrs. Hannah.

Then Jer and Jake decided to stain the play fort. It was long-overdue!

Studs.

Then Jer and I went on a very fun date doing a scavenger hunt. We kicked some serious booty too and got some pretty fantastic prizes as a result (Native New Yorker, Bread Co. and Jesters - Whoo Hoo)!

Here's our competition going through pennies at Walmart.

Jer and his b-ball buddy stick out their tongues to get us more points.

Thanks Eric and Maynhia for a GREAT night!! You two definitely know how to throw a party!!!

Wheel of Fortune!!!

Well, the good news is we had a BLAST!!!
The bad news...this is probably as close to the WHEEL as we'll ever get!

But I'm getting ahead of myself here.
I flew into SD and my LOVELY mom picked me up at the airport and took me to Nat's.
Then Nat and I were ready to head to the big audition, but first we had to make a quick stop.

The Drive-Thru Window guy wasn't too happy about me asking him to take our pic.
Notice there are 2 drinks and only 1 straw.
Pretty sure he did that on purpose.

Not to worry.

Nat hit the brakes, jumped out and fetched us another one. Good thing, cause neither one of us were about to exchange germs by sharing 1 straw.

We made it up there in plenty of time, so we hit the mall for a little shopping.
It was pouring down rain, & Nat was so happy that she brought her trusty umbrella.
If only she had been willing to share it.
Starting to wonder if she really intends to share that potential prize money...
We finally got to the auditions with a bit of time to spare, so I tried to pull a Jamie with the one arm wonder, but I obviously need some pointers.

After heading to the bathroom to freshen up (which was full of cute but STINKY gymnasty girls!), we were ready for our audition. They weren't ready for us though, so we broke out the cards. We never did get to play because we decided to make friends with the enemy.

Here they are: THE COMPETITION. Lookin mighty intimidating, huh? The couple on the left and in the center made it through to the 2nd round with us (along with about 40 other people).

Doing our Vanna pose before going through those doors and watching our fate unfold. Once inside, we called our letters loud and clear, worked as a team, bombed the written exam, and were remarkable while introducing ourselves. They told us that if we made it they'd call us in the next couple of days (kind of like don't call us, we'll call you?).
But we had the BEST time and are just happy that we made it to the 2nd round because that means we're .....

NOT 1ST LOSERS!!!
WHOO HOO!!!

Thanks Nat (and Jer) for letting me come and thanks Jamie for taking the Lukester!
IT WAS THE BEST!!!
