April Fools 2013

Oh yes we were at it again this year, but we decided to go broad daylight for a change.   Maybe not the best plan. We got caught red handed by one family and had to make 2- 3 attempts at other places because people for some reason were hanging out in their front yards today.
and the WIND did not help!
Rough as it was we knocked em out and not one of our victims suspected us.
Not even for a second.
Hahahaha.
But I do have to concede that the payback came before our attack this year.  I was teaching preschool and my boss came in my room all panicked.  She wanted to know where I parked my car.  I immediately freaked out thinking someone had hit it.  She then told me that some lady was doing something to it and I COMPLETELY FREAKED OUT.  Until she said it was a blond lady and I realized I knew exactly what was going down.  Funny how a few other teachers were watching her too, just a-wondering why some stranger was messin with my car.  So glad they all ran out to scare her away!
Loved all the honks I got and the looong conversation I had with Sarah's neighbor about her family and all the birthdays they have on April Fools and how much my car sign meant to her and her son.
It was a fabulous day I think mostly because even Jer got geared up and in the holiday spirit this year!
HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!

April Foolery (aka Emily Day)

We were at it again this year, bright and early (8:45...too early for some...Jake).
Breanna was the mastermind this year.
 Luke was backseat driver.
Bree's plan:  Deliver cookies to people with a note saying they were from different people.
How perfectly April Foolish, don't you think???
Love this girl and her crazy ways!

We loved the paper filled fudge paybacks.
The kids all were fighting over the fudge so I told them they had to get a knife and split it.
Jake couldn't understand why the butter knife wasn't going through it.
Hilarious.
Those Vals got us good.

Scary queen popcorn paybacks, not so hilarious.
Well actually, very hilarious.
But think before you mess with the Heaps.
Payback for them means biz.
Oh and love my mom and her sending this creepy candy which we put out for April Fools Breakfast...
Scorpion or Cricket candy anyone???!!!
HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY!!!!

Foolin Around

Started with some serious sign making...
 Followed by blue tapin...
(love how my get-away driver is totally hands on this year, how do you like that!)
And topped off with some sign hangin!
(Jake's sign)
 (Bree's idea)
 (Luke's)
So that's what a few of our friends woke up to this April Fool's morning.
But when you fool around, there's always payback and this is what we came home to after date night tonight.

Pretty sweet love notes all over our garage.
Some of our faves: GO UTES, Go Lakers, Luke is Smart, Jake is Smart, Bree Sings Like a Bird, we love camels, FHE, pray and EAT MORE CHICKEN (I think that one was for me).
 Innocent, sweet Maynhia cleaning up.
Hope your April Fool's was full of foolin too!

sneaky little us

With this being Jake's favorite holiday of the year and all, we decided to make it special.
Everyone played a critical role: The Mastermind.
The Monkey.

The Co-Conspirators.

And The Get-Away-Driver.
(Definitely didn't think this one through before making the assignment.)
We put the plan into action.
Pulled the 'ole switcheroo with a few wreaths and lawn chairs.
And Yes.
Bree's boots were key to the success of the operation.
There was of course one little glitch.
After taking the wreath from Nikki's door,
we went back to put on the replacement and mysteriously enough,
the hook was gone.
We thought we were caught for sure.
Turns out the hook was there, but we just couldn't see it because it was pitch black.
Seems some people don't like to leave the porch light on
for people who might be stopping by to play April Fools' tricks.

Well, we might not have gotten caught last night,
but those boogers were onto us bright and early this morning.
There was no fooling them.
So I quick made some cheesy bread
in hopes of staving off any sort of retaliation.....

Didn't work.
Just opened my door and
got soaked by water balloons from these three.
Jake came to the rescue with our giant umbrella,
(but when these girls aim, they don't miss)
I will say I'm thoroughly enjoying the
shake, fries and licorice they set out to lure me into their trap.
You girls can come sneakin around here anytime.
Until next year...
