Veterans Parade

It was another toasty one!   Got there early and snagged a prime spot.
(might be the only one who thought it was prime,
but the rest of you can thank me for all the extra exercise you got:)
We got hooked up to some amazingly refreshing drinkage thanks to Luke's need for a pit stop.

Voted most studly.  I'm especially likin the tall one.
The queen of candy put the kibosh on throwing candy into the street this year.
Had to sneak a few in when she wasn't looking though.
But this time I made sure #1 it was still in the package and #2 no motorized vehicles were coming.
Jake's workin the crowd, but where in the world is Riley?

Likin that kid's swagger.

Georgia, you were definitely worth the wait. Go Girl Scouts!

Have to admit every year I get a little bit choked up during the parade.
So blessed!
Happy Veteran's Day!

Princess Ball

These two set off for a magical night full of treats, fun, dancing and games.
Bree with the Princess Hostesses
The other princesses: Kate, Haley, Allison, Elise, Bree and Jennica
Bree got to eat at my favorite place with my favorite guy.
The girls wore their dads out dancing the night away!

Might just be the cutest dad ever.
And when I sent him with my camera I admit I was hoping to get maybe 1 good shot of the night.
Boy did he deliver!
Thanks to Haley and Allison who I believe made this entire evening possible
(and to their parents who worked like crazy to make it so perfect!)
Breanna had the best time ever!

One Last Hurrah....

We have gotten some pretty fabulous zoo trips out of our zoo passes over the past year but all good things must come to an end and these babies are no exception.
Did I mention it was a lovely 87 degrees today?

 Future Farmers of America...

This might be my favorite pic of the day...love how I told Ava to peek out from behind and she did it PERFECTLY.
Can you spot the sleepy Koala?
And Luke's pick, the Komodo Dragon?
Our photographer encouraged us to be more dragon-like, good call!
 Ha ha ha!
This woman cannot get enough time with all of the animals! We had to force her to sit and take a rest.
It was a hot but heavenly day a the zoo!
and these ladies don't know it, but I just might be hoping to sneak one more trip with them in before our passes expire!

Halloween Goods

You know we have to make this a week long holiday, so the party went on at storytime with Luke's preschool buds on Thursday.

Decorating those sugar cookies....thanks Gabe for coming through with that smile!
Then the highly anticipated pumpkin carving.
When it comes to gutting, Jake is all about the seeds. They are his favorite all toasted up.  So he carefully cleaned out his pumpkin one seed at a time.
Breezy was the only one willing to get her hands dirty and scoop out the goop.
Jer missed out on one of his favorite events of the year (uh-huh) because he was at Woodbadge.
We were so bummed he had to miss out.
 These babies were devoured.
Then we were off to the Trunk or Treat. Me and my BFF Brittany and her BFF Leah.
It was probably the best attended ward activity in the history of mankind.
The activities committe is amazing (you know who you are).
Jer made it back just in time for the party and boy were we happy to see him.
Seems like we were the only ones though cuz he took A LOT of heat for his 'costume'.
Probably not the best thing to wear after the Lakers came to town and cleaned up.
People were even confronting me in the parking lot because of it, now that was scary.

Jake and his best buds Jordan and Peter.
Jake reported that he got more candy at this trunk or treat than any Halloween ever.
I think that means we have the best ward ever!
Happy Halloween!

Can I just say how much I love a good Halloween party?

Photobucket
And this may just be the reason why. We even had enough time after dinner to go on an little stroll where we were told by random people going into Affinito's that we must eat there next time, then we walked by the next restaurant which Jer was dying to try until we saw the guy behind the counter watching TV with his finger nearly up his nose. And finally we learned that lines to pay for a tiny donut can be VERY long but VERY worth it!
Heapsters thanks for a fabulous party and for letting us have an mid-week date night!

Beauty and the Beast

Bree and I went to see her first Broadway show and one of my all time favs, Beauty and the Beast. I was just a tiny bit giddy about the whole thing. Luke was there to see us off, Halloween costume and all. Loved the car ride there and getting to catch up on things with Heidi and Jessica.
Then getting to sit by Breezy. She might have been singing her heart out.  And she had some kind of intermission instinct because as soon as the lights came on, she jumped up, grabbed Sierra and made a mad dash for the bathroom. By the time I got to up there, the line was already down the hall and winding down the stairs. But these girls were already in.
Breanna had a great time with Sierra and she was so cute and kept thanking Breanna for coming. How sweet is that?  I think Jennica and Aspen were having a tiny bit of fun too!
What a treat to get to go with such nice friends! Thanks for letting us come along!
