Snow Day!!!

Jake was so pumped he wore his gear on the ride up.
And after fighting the crowds to get sleds at the Walmart in Flag, we found the most gorgeous untouched white snow we had ever seen.
And there were only a few other people there to share it with!
The snow was all ours. It was awesome!

Jake and the boys made a jump....
while breezy tried out the tube.
 We had a few crashes...

and made a few snow angels.
 Luke rode sled-less.

It was the PERFECT day for this little family to be all together, just us.
We were tired and frozen by the end of the day but that hot cocoa waiting at the car was heaven.
Already talking about when we'll go back.
SO FUN!!!!
(thanks Mums for outfitting us!)

Last Day of the World Party

With Jake making an official declaration up and down the aisles of Walmart that this was the last day of the world (he was with his parents Matt and Jamie Heaps at the time),
I thought this would be the best post title for the night.
Even if it wasn't really an official Last Day of the World party.
It was actually an official gingerbread house making party.
Even if that was decided as we stood in line at Walmart and then made the boys wait while we raced back to the candy aisle to gather the goods.  And we might have lost Grady for a second.  Or maybe Matt did while he was picking the longest line to stand in.  Which Jer made even longer by using his fancy e-gift card.
Walmart loved us that night and so did it's customers.
And then we were almost too tired to make these bad boys.
Good thing the kids did not let us forget that's what we were doing.
Sugar burns and runny frosting...Gingerbread houses with the Smiths are ALL THAT!

And all the while these two were working as hard as ever watching that BYU game.
While we were working pretty hard catching up on talk that was long over-due.
Loved this night!

Ms. Gade's Gingerbread Hunt

Luke's class had a gingerbread man runaway from them so I was lucky enough to be invited to tag along as the kids searched for him.  First stop....the gym teacher.  No luck.
We stopped at the nurse's office but no luck there either.
Then we met up with Principal Wong.
She had a serious clue for us that led us straight to...
The classroom where the gingerbread man had left cookies and punch for everyone!

Loved this afternoon with you Luke!!!

Holiday Recital

Thanks Denise for letting us join your recital again.  The kids did awesome!  So fun to see their progress!!

12-12-12....

It was a once in a life-time kind of date so we got together to celebrate!
And later that night we went home to find a bull in our neighborhood just hanging out.
Lock your back gates:)

Santa Sightings....

We stopped off at the Outlet Mall to have breakfast with Santa...
We were a little late for breakfast, but...
We were just in time for face painting!

And we got to hear a little bit of Santa's story on the plaza.
So fun to be out with all the holiday bustlin.
Then at our ward party, Jer read a story to the kids.
And Santa made another showing!  Santa was amazing...he knew Luke's name and all about him and he had the best HO HO HO around!  But Luke was a little concerned about how shiny his beard was.  Too shiny to be real he said.  Shiny beard or not, this Santa rocked and was a huge hit!

Happy Birthday Riley!!!

We celebrated in true GNO style with dinner at the Culinary Dropout.  It was the perfect birthday atmosphere (except for those of us olides who were too blind to see the menu in the dim light haha!)
Then we hit the town and played a few birthday games including find the trolly, first one across the street and recruit the most people you can to say happy birthday to Riley.  And although the Paradise Bakery staff yelling it in unison was pretty fabulous, I think Jamie won this one when she got this guy to play along.  He got up close and personal and we all thought his stache was the best.
Sarah Jamie and Angie won the most yogurt samples game and as for the game grande finale....
That would have been hitching a ride with this guy...."Um I'm only supposed to have one other person riding"  "That's ok,  we don't mind...Sarah can sit on Riley and my lap." "I'm having so much fun!"  "I'm probably gonna get fired!"  "So is the mall crowded this time of year?"  "How about dropping us off in Anthem?"
Almost peed my pants laughing so hard flying around the streets of the mall with this guy.
However this little adventure did cost us a sighting of a "professional football" player.
Or so they say.  Too bad those pictures got lost.
Such a fun night with some of my all time favorite people!!
Happy Birthday Riley, we love you!!
And PS- I think mustaches are gonna be big for you this year....better tell Jon to get going!

Rachel Rachel Rachel!

Rachel texted on Monday to tell us she would be in town for the Forgotten Carols so we met her the next night for dinner at Oreganos.  SO FUN to see her.  I can't even tell you how much we love her.
Then the next night, she hooked us up with Michael's tickets to see the show!
They were some pretty amazing seats!

And after she gave Breanna her own book about the show.
Boy do I love these two girls!!!
And how easy it is to forget about the time when we're talking away.
(Thanks Bree for reminding us you had school the next day and that we should get going:).
So glad we didn't have to wait a whole year to see you this time and I hope it's even sooner when we'll see you again!  LOVE YOU!

Remember These?

                        Shrinky Dinks!

The Prigmores sent them to us and the kids got right to work coloring, baking and watching those bad boys shrink.  So so fun!!!
Thanks Nat for bringing this tradition back and getting us in the Christmas spirit!!!
