Easter Week Festivities, Day 2

So tonight we did the Easter story in eggs. If good intentions count, then I think we get an A for effort. But as for actually getting the meaning across, well....  Let's just say we started in on this pretty late in the evening (not recommended), add to that the sugar high that some of us were on, the flatulence that one individual had, the continuous clicking of the plastic eggs, and the constant flash of a certain person's camera
(who, of all people, should know better than to be so distracting), I think we were doomed from the get-go.  But even if it didn't quite go down like I pictured it, we were all together and it was fun.

And we got to belt out some Easter tunes while he played.
Love him.

(and no, those aren't fingerprint smudges)

Three P's in a Pod

Nothing better than a giant hole full of water just sitting there ready to be played in.
Except maybe watching Jamie running full throttle shouting, "Stop! Stop! Stop!".
And the little old lady who matter of factly said, "Oh there's no stopping that."
Might have been the funniest park moment EVER.
At least Luke and his green unders thought so.

Top it off with hand sanitizer, park maintenance spies, park security's courtesy, and shovel-less moms who had to cover it all with their bare feet, then I'd say you just had yourself a perfect day at the park!

On another note, thanks Gman for having Luke's back.
It's not everyday you get to say your kid has a 2-1/2 year old body guard:)
We love you Grady!

Stealing Ideas Again....

and I really loved this one.
I came across a bunch of great ways to make Easter more meaningful and having a Last Supper Dinner was one of them. (This technically takes place on Thursday of Easter week, but our Thurs nights are crazy so tonight it was.) We used food that they possibly ate (and improvised with others). We learned about traditions from back then. We read the account of that night from the scriptures and had a really great discussion as we read.   I'm thinking this is going to be an annual event for us.
And this celebrating Easter all week long, doing something everyday to help us remember what it's all about...I'm liking it!

Thanks to all you super creative people out there who are so nice to share your fab ideas!

Fabulous 4!!!

When he woke up I asked him how old he was. He held up 4 fingers and said 4.
And then he asked, "Is 3 still in there?"

 41.5 inches tall, 39 pounds

 Talking to grandma and grandpa

 Preschool with his buds...
Special bday visitors dropping by with his favorite thing ever...A Scooby Doo DVD!

 Birthday Dinner...Rays Pizza.
And Luke found a new reason to love Rays....

Ultimate Birthday Party Destination: Peter Piper Pizza

 Makin a wish...
And toppin it all off with a boomerang toss in the park.

And the best thing about being 4?
Big enough to do so many things but still little enough for this:)
You are our Scooby Doo loving, cool jumping, game playing little man. We love how you call out your favorite songs on the radio, how you rock out to them in the car, singing every word. How you love to do homework with the big kids and how you have to do so many things all by yourself, like buckling your seatbelt and washing your hands. We wish we could work your charm at clean up time when we ask you to help and you sweetly refuse, saying, "Oh, That's Okay".
You make us laugh every day.
We LOVE You!!!
Happy Big 4!

Preschool Park Day

It was the PERFECT day to be outside. The boys were in heaven (me too)!
Preschool should be at the park everyday!

Foolin Around

Started with some serious sign making...
 Followed by blue tapin...
(love how my get-away driver is totally hands on this year, how do you like that!)
And topped off with some sign hangin!
(Jake's sign)
 (Bree's idea)
 (Luke's)
So that's what a few of our friends woke up to this April Fool's morning.
But when you fool around, there's always payback and this is what we came home to after date night tonight.

Pretty sweet love notes all over our garage.
Some of our faves: GO UTES, Go Lakers, Luke is Smart, Jake is Smart, Bree Sings Like a Bird, we love camels, FHE, pray and EAT MORE CHICKEN (I think that one was for me).
 Innocent, sweet Maynhia cleaning up.
Hope your April Fool's was full of foolin too!
