San Diego Rain or Shine!

 Spring Break was here and seeing that it was still my birthday week, we decided to head on over to San Diego to finish off the celebrating.  

It turned out to be rainy and chilly but we didn't let that stop us from having a spectacular time.

We paid a visit to the Bob Hope Veteran's Memorial first off.

 And paid our respects to this phenomenal statue!

 

I will never look at these trees again with out thinking of Jamie...love how she sees beauty in things I never even noticed!

 Then dinner in Little Italy...the line to get to the hostess went up this narrow store aisle, but there were so many great things to see and smell that the time just flew by.  

 

And if you ever get to Fillipe's....go pizza.

The locals in Little Italy are happy to snap a pic of you...but beware, it's challenging for them to hold onto that camera so please don't give them 2.

 

Loved the late night stops at the Sev to stock up on dessert and breakfast.

 And after all that walking there was nothing better than relaxing in the hot tub and our new friend, Steve.

But please don't ask him why he moved.

My new favorite discovery just might be the sauna.

 The next day the boys hit the beach while we went shopping and got pedis.  

It was tricky getting a good picture but...

 we had some time, so we worked in a few.

 Then came the scrubbin which was not so good.  Nor were the 2 squirts of lotion.

 Then Sarah made a funny that had us all rolling.  The whole weekend.

 And while the boys (well, not Matt), were battling hypothermia on the beach, we were enjoying tasty warm cheese sticks and sugary sweet fried bread sticks.  Jamie and Riley know how to pick them!

March Madness, Ticket to Ride, Pass the Pigs and lots of talk.

Jon, you could save us all a lot of hassle next time if you'd just pick up the tab.

 St. Paddy's Day Sunset.

Celebrating Irish Style in the Gaslamp Quarter.  That place was crawling with GREEN.  Jer and Jamie could not resist cuttin it up with these two.  It was so festive...I'm thinking best St. Patrick's Day ever!!

 Last day, shrimp boats at Anthony's...my family tradition.  

 Epiphany of the day...Sarah likes coconut shrimp SAUCE.

And it only took 2 tries to figure it out.

And the signature memory of the trip (next to the candy dish line)....the infamous dance circle in each and every elevator ride.  

Jer took center almost every time and let me tell you, he danced so fast you could not see him move.

James, Jon and Jamie, I think you had a 3-way tie for best dancers.  

Except for the intoxicated friend who joined us and was not afraid to bust a move center stage.

Then he made that exit with his controversial limp.

Thank you all for making my 40th so fun.  Loved all of the memories!

And thank you, thank you, thank you, mom and dad for taking the kids and giving us the BEST spot on earth to celebrate my 40th.  You are honestly the best parents ever and I love you guys!!!
